Happy New Year and our studio tour begins!

Over the next few months we’ll be doing a studio tour of some of our member’s studios in the Baltimore area. We hope to connect with some of our members on their home turf. Our first stop is Wendy Hickock of Wendy Hickock Photography and we’ll meet at her house/studio at noon (light lunch provided) on January 26th. Her address is 1704 Nimitz Drive Annapolis, MD 21401.

PUG meeting Monday at 7:30PM

Our next PUG meeting will be on Monday evening at 7:30PM at the Love Life Images Studio. We’re going to talk a little about finding inspiration, which is key during the busy season. Please be prepared to share something that keep you inspired. There will be munchies and drinks. It is only a Baltimore PUG this time, so we look forward to seeing everyone and getting some motivation from you all!

This month’s meeting will be another combined DC/Baltimore meeting and will feature a visit from the new Pictage CEO, Jim Collins. We’re excited to have Jim back in town after meeting him in April. We are very excited about some of the changes he has already implemented and the promising developments he has in store for Pictage in the months to come. I hope everyone is getting their rain gear on for tonight (although it is supposed to stop raining early). Be sure to leave with enough time to trek the beltway. If you want to come early and have dinner here, there is a restaurant (Ram’s Head Tavern) in the mill and footsteps away from our studio.

Also, Denis will be speaking in the Great Room, which is also footsteps from the studio, so there is plenty of space for everyone. Bring a friend!

This very special PUG gathering features Denis Reggie up close and personal as he shares favorite images and stories from behind the scenes. He will detail his techniques, offer industry insights, and answer questions in a casual, living room style format. This is a Canon Explorer of Light event and is open to all working and aspiring wedding photographers.

ABOUT DENIS: Hailed by Town & Country as “the great wedding photographer of our day” and by Oprah Winfrey as “the best in the business,” Denis Reggie and his impact on wedding photography have become legend. Sensing the frustration of many brides with the posed look of traditional and pseudo-fashion wedding photography, he set out in the early 1980’s to refine and popularize the truly natural, editorial style he termed “wedding photojournalism.” The wedding photography industry has never been the same.
